The East Boston Division of the Boston Municipal Court is Located at 37 Meridian Street, East Boston, MA 02128, which serves the East Boston neighborhood of Boston, Winthrop, Logan Airport, and the Sumner and Callahan Tunnels. All cases in the East Boston court are prosecuted by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. BMC East Boston is a small courthouse, it addresses arraignments, pre-trials, motions, bench trials. All jury trials are sent to the Central Division of the Boston Municipal Court.

With a jurisdiction encompassing Logan Airport as well as the Sumner and Callahan tunnels, more people pass through the jurisdiction of BMC East Boston than any other court in Massachusetts on a daily basis. Colloquially known for its “airport cases,” many of the crimes heard in the East Boston BMC originate from State Police arrests at Logan Airport. A common charge seen in this court is possessing a firearm without an FID, as travelers from out of state are not familiar with the Massachusetts gun laws.
