BMC Central Criminal Defense
The Central Division of the Boston Municipal Court is located at 24 New Chardon Street, Boston, MA 02114, which services the Downtown Boston area, Chinatown, North End, South End through Massachusetts Avenue, West End, and Beacon Hill neighborhoods of Boston. All cases in the Brighton court are prosecuted by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. BMC Central is the largest courthouse in Massachusetts and it handles arraignments, pre-trials, motions, bench trials and jury trials. As well as jury trials for cases that originate out of the Charlestown, East Boston, and South Boston Divisions of the Boston Municipal Court.
Having the largest jurisdiction for cases in the City of Boston, a wide array of matters are seen in the BMC Central courthouse on a daily basis. These include OUI and DUI cases, drug cases, theft cases, and firearm cases.
The BMC Central Division’s jurisdiction also includes the area around the TD Garden, home to the Boston Bruins and Celtics, as well as a number of other music and entertainment acts throughout the year. Due to the large amounts of alcohol consumed at such events, coupled with a large police presence, it is common to see alcohol related charges in the BMC Central courthouse such as OUI and DUI cases, and assault and battery cases.
